She's PurrFect - Great job man - btw it is normal for them to "bounce" by themselves to 3 or 4 k with full choke once they heat up

chop that choke she should hold steady at 1250 rpm

Hello guys! Finally stop raining over here. Took it for a ride!

Start off cold ->
After 3 sec running, rpm jumped to 3K then 1sec it jumped to 4.5K
Tool some choke off to bring down to 1.2K
After a few sec it jumps back to 4K RPM keep taking choke off.
Bike is not fully warm so it idles at 800RPM so I put some choke on so bike doesn't turn off.

Finally it warmed up. Took off.
Pressed the clutch and RPM went up 2K and it stayed as long as I have the clutch pressed on. This of course cause gear to engage very difficult without jumping.

I noticed the RPM did not get stuck while running like it used to do before except once in a 15 min ride.

Is this a normal behavior? Could it be that the clutch is pulling the choke cable as well? This doesn't happen when in neutral. I noticed that when clutch pressed the RPM will increase then if i slowly unpress it then RPM will also would start going doing...Again, it does not happen at neutral going to first gear but from first gear to second and on. Also i noticed that the choke level (casing or holder) is not tight enough. In other words i can move it up or down with my hand. Does this need to be tight at a certain angle? If so how do i measure the angle?

Just went for a 20 mile ride and i noticed that RPM is getting stuck. I'm going to remove the carbs and submerge them in carb cleaner overnight then use a nylon brush to clean it. It's going to rain for the next 2 days so i won't be riding any way.

I know so many questions, but i think they are necessary.

I will take a video once I get home of the starting the bike when cold.

Thanks again

The choke control and casing sits in "indents" on the handlebar and the whole
thing should be firm/tight and not wiggle about

Let the bike warm up then chop the choke and it should idle at 1150 to 1250 rpm

The clutch is hydraulic and has no interaction with the choke cable.

From looking at your video again I think you throttle cables maybe be under tension
binding a bit, and are not entirely loose & "free".

When you rev the bike and let go of the throttle it should snap right back to base idle.

After playing some more on the bike this morning, i found that my choke cable was being pulled when the tank was down causing the revs go up. Once I re routed the cable under the throttle cable then i noticed an improvement with the tank down. Took it for a spin and no more getting stuck at 3K or 4K rpms.

I figured i would also tighten up the clutch level as trying to put the choke casing inline, but i supposed by doing that i pulled the choke cable again because now it's doing the same thing. Unfortunately I did this right before i came to work without test driving it, now i have the problem again.

At least i know the culprit is the choke staying open and not the carbs. At least it seems to makes sense for now LOL..

Thanks all again.

I rerouted the choke cable and I'm certain it's not being opened when i put the tank down as i don't see my revs changing.

RPM is increasing every time i pull the clutch. It goes to 4K RPM and as long as i have the clutch in the RPM DOES NOT go down. When bike is in neutral the RPM does not increase. It's only when driving. Could it be my disk (transmission)? It makes no sense.

It's dangerous to ride like this as i have to press the brakes (front and read), press clutch then let go then press again then let go and repeat, repeat until i see the RPM slowly going down then i engage the clutch all the way in.

I did notice today that the RPM needle would go up and down as if there is a vacuum leak. That wasn't there before. I wonder if when i attempted to put the air box back on i connected them well.

Any ideas what could it be? I think i should open a new thread as it now seems to be going out of the original purpose of it.

Yes might be a good idea to start a new thread, get some fresh eyes on it.
