Running Very Hot

RE: Running Very Hot
Thanks for the reply guys. The bike has done 37k miles. I couldnt find a surface temperature gauge anywhere for under £100 so I just disassembled the whole cooling system, shearing a bolt on the metal piping just below the rad. Anyway, flushed the radiator and backflushed it. Put it all back together and it looks good so far. For 30 mins at idle temperature stayed at 1/2 way, when it passed this the fan kicked in and brought it back to 1/2 just like before.
I jumped on to take it for a spin and ran out of petrol somewhere remote. Good news is she never overheated. I'll try again this evening.
P.S. Thanks for all the help so far guys.
