Default Running Rich

So, in the morning my 1988 hurricane starts up real fast and runs great, then after riding a little while and then shutting down, it is quite hard to start up and the choke only makes it worse, which leads me to believe it is too rich, anyone know how to adjust this. Thanks.

well it really depends on your setup, like after market exhaust?after market air filter? does the carbs have a jet kit? if you think its too rich haul a plug an look see if they as black as your boot or a nice light brown or whitish, black-rich,brown- good, white- lean
while your there might as well make sure they are gapped proper. now if its all good there its possible its something else but id check all plugs. now if your high alt you want it to be alittle on the rich side so the air fuel screws should be around 2 1/2 turns out, if not right around 2 turns out then give her a shot an see how it works

It means that it's definately running rich.

By opening the throttle all the way, you let air in to lean it out.

That is a good chart. I remember that from quite a while back. Just some really great examples.
