does any ones 1000f run hot too fast ? and if so what did you do too cure it ?

My CBR 1000Fs always runs hot and fast but one time it was running too hot and too fast.
I had to change the Thermostsat on the front of the rad...$50 part.
No way to check it, just replace it.
