I can vouch for the Electrex one, much better than the original - decent heat sink. Helpful company too..

Maybe Electrosport is not out of business. I checked some of the online suppliers that have been out of stock on these for months and they now have them again. YES!

Angry regulator

My 95 1000f started fine tonight then quit and wouldnt crank i have a brand new battery like 3 weeks old but i use my jump pack and it starts and runs for about 5 to 10 minutes then dies i jump it off again it runs about the same time and dies any clues im about to give up on this bike

Sounds like bad R/R. Due to the 3-phase system you need a certain type R/R.

Search on ESR230, that's the one I have. Works great, starts charging at low RPM. Its plug and play. Here is a

As explained in this thread, a dead battery won't work, you need some power to excite the system.

I have a ElectroSport ESR230 R/R as well that replaced the dead OEM unit. Starts charging at around 1400 rpm (14.2v). I also replaced the lead acid battery with a AGM.
