Picked up a '93 this past Sunday from my neighbor, been trying to buy the bike for two years and last week when I was badgering him about it, his wife overheard the conversation, and voila, I am now an owner !!!! Got her with new tires, chain and seat for $600. Has just over 30000 miles, but he went down on it 3 years ago and its been sitting in his DRIVEWAY ever since. Even thought its been down, no broken plastics, broken right bar and footpeg are the only real damage. Got it home, did some fluid changes, drained the tank, cleaned the plugged petcock, and she fired right off with a jump, idles out just like she's supposed to!!! Sadly, I work too much so I likely won't be back at it until the weekend, but I've got some parts on the way, with hopes to clean the carbs and put on the new chain ASAP, so that when my parts arrive, she'll be ready to roll. Great to find this forum, its definitely already been a great resource for me. Looking forward to being around.

Welcome aboard. I'm sure you'll have her back on the road in no time. I see you're from Indy. With any luck, I'll be riding up your way this summer for the Moto GP again.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I feel like I got the steal of the century too!!!! Can't express how excited I am to finally have a bike again, started out on 600 Ninja, then went to a 750 FZR, then after a 5 year hiatus been riding a 1200 HD Sportster for the last 2 seasons. It's just great to be back on a bike with some power!!!! Looking forward to having her back on the road, and I'm sure she'll be very appreciative as well, after the abuse she's suffered. I feel so lucky to have tapped into this wealth of knowledge to assist in her road to recovery. You old timers here probably take this forum for granted, but wow, what an incredible resource!!! I'm positive that any problem I will encounter has already been addressed here, so thank you for sharing.

On a side note, how do I attatch my signature to my posts?

Unused Throttle is Wasted!!!!

Indeed! The steal of the century, hands down!
I just got back onto a bike after a 10! (bought mine on the 16th) years hiatus and have looked across 4 states to find an acceptably priced CBR1000F. I found a few 88's for up to $3.5k! and now consider myself lucky to have picked up a 90' for $1500.
I've been putting on a few miles since, and am stoked!

Finding this forum is the single biggest help in addressing any issues with your bike, just after a few posts myself, I'm already certain of that!

Welcome back to life
