Question Posts on the forum...

I have some bits and pieces of an '89 1KF for sale. Before posting on the For Sale forum, I read the forum rules and it said you can't post anything until you reach Senior Member status (100 posts minimum). The sang is, I am unlikely to reach Senior Member status because the bike has been written off (see https://cbrforum.com/forum/cbr-1000f-...0f-rip-154262/) so I am not posting on this site any more.

Is there any way to relax this Senior Member rule? I'd much prefer to offer the bits and pieces to CBR Forum members before going to fleaBay, Gumtree etc.

I tried messaging moderators of the For Sale forum for guidance, but didn't have any success.

Help...

The rules regarding selling are in place for good reasons. I'm sure you are a honest guy with the best of intentions, but there is a world full of people who aren't. It's because of those scumbags that the 100 post rule is in place and strictly enforced. Best bet is your local eBay. Forum members will find you....

Oscar, you have only been a member for 7 years, you could be a scammer.

Just joking, you will probably get a couple PM`s, as Demon says a lot of us will

spot your stuff on fleabay as well.

Good luck...

Maybe it should be 100 posts or X # of months / years a member.

I am going to be putting my 87 1000F up for sale soon and would like to offer it here first but can't because of the limit. I'd rather see it go to someone who appreciates it for what it is rather than some punk who just wants a rocket.

In 3 years, 100 posts should not be a problem...

All one needs to do is participate.

Well obviously it is. Ya, like I am going to hang out for three years then all of a sudden start spamming the for sale area. I suggested a reasonable alternative and pretty much got dismissed out of hand.

I've run forums since the early 90's and always made it a requirement that if a post got deleted then the member was immediately notified and an explanation was given. I also listened to members and their suggestions, because without them then the forum gets pretty quiet.

Please delete my account.

Tim, I think you know why your post was deleted. It's in the forum rules, in the posts above, and the entire reason this thread was originally created. Do I really need to send you a pm explaining it again?

If you were close to the 100 post requirement, there might be room for discussion. 17 posts just isn't close enough and would be insulting to all those who have posted or tried to post sale ads in the past.

This is a forum, not eBay or Craigslist. Those are much better platforms to sell your stuff on, as long as you are willing to follow their rules for posting.

Well guys, thanks for the replies. I had wanted to offer the stuff up for sale to the forum guys first as a kind-of thank you for the help I got over the years. But rules is rules so I'm off to Gumtree, fleaBay.
