Possible Causes For Throttle Stick
Hello Inmates,
I have noticed that after the bike warms up the throttle seems to stick, let me explain.
rather than the revs dropping down between each gear change the revs seem to hang.
possible causes
- throttle cables?
- Carbie slides?
Any others?
For all you Victorian gentlemen - I rode the Great Ocean road a couple of weeks ago, the missus gave me a sunday off, and the rest is history, what an absolute hoot. These bikes just hang on to the road for dear life.

Thinking (hurts, ow! quit it!): Throttle grip has slid against the bar end weight, tweaked handlebar, gummed up throttle cables, gummed up carb spring, air leak past carb boots...
that's all I can come up with after just waking up

Thank You for the responses, but i think i have isolated the problem.
I made sure the cables were running smooth and they were, bar end weight was out of the way.
It seems that where the throttle body turns inside the switch control it is getting stuck, and i can not work out what is causing it.
I have had it apart many times but every time i bolt it back together, it just jams up again.
The bike is in the garage, i am inside having a drink, i will think about it tomorrow

Hi. Has the bike ever been down on it`s right side? The reason I ask is, mine was doing exactly the same thing. It had been dropped prior to me buying it. The handle bar had a very slight kink or bend in it right where the throttle body tightens up. When it was loosened off it was fine, but when it was tightened again it was stiff. So I
got another one off flea bay. its ok now. Hope this helps.
