Default Patching the air box

There's a hole in my air box where one of the barrels extends out the front to the carburetors. Has anyone patched an air box with success?

G'Day Craig,

Is it a split or a hole?

I've mended splits before with the careful application of a soldering iron (including radiator reservoir bottles!), running the hot iron tip along the split slowly (and at an angle) Holes can be patched with fibreglass mat, or small ones possibly with a bolt and wide mudguard washers. Have also used silicon.

It's a low pressure vaccuum region, so is not going to put huge stresses on a repair.

Cheers, SB

I'd try silicon sealant.

All good advice, just be sure to throughly degrease,
if you go the silicon or epoxy-resin/fiberglass route.

JB Weld - let it setup to a semi "putty like" consistency and apply
rough up the area around the hole to help with adhesion
