Hey,

I just recently purchased a 87cbr1000f that looks just like yours (except missing the plastics) and have the same set up. I also have been having issues with my gas tank and vacuume. If I find any other info I'll post it here. But I plan on removing the pods and installing a stock air box. But first I have to save up for one. (Times are hard)

Yep, totally stock, that hole is for the fuel cap area overflow. The top end of the breather port isn't visible outside of the tank, if you know some one really small you can get then to climb in and have a look for you.

Alternatively using a small mirror you will be able to see where that tube runs to inside the tank. It ends way up high immediately forward of the filler. Best way to test is to take the tank off and whack an air compressor line onto the bottom end of the line.

I'd be drilling high up on the left or right side (9 oclock, 3 oclock) of the filler neck
just below the rim. BTW epic you are not too far away from me

I'd drill as a last resort, but if I had to, it would be at the three 'o' clock position.

Bike leans to the left on the side-stand and if the tank is brimmed it might just over flow.

Hey epic, did u have to raise your tank for the pods to fit? Because mine has a 1inch lift bracket the guy I Baught it from made. Today I'm going to take apart the tank and go through it all. I'm going to take many pics and make a thread. I want to see if what I have matches your setup.
