Normandy trip
ORIGINAL: Noe
We drove approx 90 mph (140 km/h) on the motorways, and 60 mph on all the other roads, so that was quite easy. One tank of fuel I even got it up to 17,9 km/l riding nice and easy on the small backroads i Normandy waching the scenery and sites.
At the way home we drove approx 100-110 mph(160-180 km/h) on the motorway and that gave me a fuel consumption of 15,5 km/l

But I am suspecting that my carbs need cleaning, there is a smell of gas sometimes, perhaps the swimmers are hanging...
Just need to figure out how to get the airfiltercase out, it´s kind of tricky I think, even with the workshopmanual at hand.
Hi guys, have just returned from France myself, cbr1000f 1991, covered 2,587 miles in 9 days. The honda never flinched, but the brand new triumph with me broke down on the fourth day. Covered all the beaches in Normandy (standing on them makes youre heart bleed) I have loads of pics at the beaches and brithish and American cemetarys if anybody wants to see them.
Would love to se some of your pics !
Nice to hear that your bike did well on the trip! These bikes are just incredible machines!
If you are interested in war history then take a trip to Verdun. It's very very exciting.
We lived at a british B&B just north of Verdun, which is owned by Ian and Carol and they are some og the nicest people I have ever met. They both love bikes and Ian is very interested in WWI, and makes guided tours in the Verdun area so you don't wast time finding the interesting sites.
This is their web adress if you should be interested in taking a trip over there again.
