New Stuff!

RE: New Stuff!
The crystal clear instructions that came with the set stated to release the clip on the front fork holding the brake line in place. That's it. No additional extensions needed. It's a really slick installation for 3/4 of an inch that I really notice.

Hi TooTall,
I have been thinking on putting one of those bar risers on my 88 model (I'm not the 18 years old boy that I used to be anymore), anyway my question comes with all the cables and wires, do they need to put also extensions on them or they can can resist lifting the bars with out molesting them...let me know so I can look for a couple of them in my next trip to the US, also a particular brand name that you recomend? can I order them via internet?
Thanks,
Luis

Man, I wish they'd make a touring screen for an 88. Your bike looks great!

RE: New Stuff!
Just thought I would share a hair pulling event. (not much left up there to pull!) I noticed an annnoying rattle after I came back from a road trip coming from the engine area at over 3000RPM only. I searched the forums here for "rattle" and decided to pull all the fairings off to try to get to the root of the rattle. After 4 hours I gave up. The next day I asked a buddy to take a look at it. Put it up on the centre stand, put it into gear, and as I revved it he felt around the handlebars. Long story short (sorry) it was one of the Genmar Bar Risers that was loose with alot of play. Tightened it down and viola! Now I need to go drink to forget about the incident.

RE: New Stuff!
I installed GenMar risers last week. At first I had mixed thoughts but now I like them. The bike is more evenly weighted in the turns and feels more predictable when fully leaned over. I can hang futher off the side of the bike with them. I thought that they would take away from the handling but they actually improve it.
The added bonus is my fore arms don't go to sleep (the reason I installed them in the first place).

RE: New Stuff!
Interesting Tire choice. My 90 had the Bridgestone on it when I bought it, but it slips too much in aggressive cornering. I bought a Dunlop Sportmax from the local Harley dealer because many of the Buell models use the same size rear tire as the CBR1000F (170/60-17). I find that the Dunlop grips better at the edge than the Bridgestone.
Just my 2 cents. I like those bar risers. I'm going to have to get some myself.
