Putting an 88 engine into a 90 chassis is a pita. Water pipes on the 88 are behind the head, 90 has them on the side so you need to be creative there. The ignition is also different. You will have to fit the 90s single pulser signal generator along with its 9 pin rotor into the 88 engine. You also will need the 90s front sprocket cover with speedo drive to go onto the 88 engine. It is possible...ask me how I know

and you need to trim the frame for the 88s water pipes to behind the head to clear...you'll soon see the two bodywork lugs that are the problem. If you cut the front half of them off you can get the pipes in and still have enough to bolt the bodywork to. All in all a hell of a job. Sorry for multiple posting, keep forgetting all the bridges I have crossed
