Great, slow and steady rebuild and I'd say you'll have yourself one kickass bike
you'll always be proud of and enjoy plenty

If ya get stuck looking for anything or need opinions on doing stuff - plenty of equally
enthusiastic members willing to lend ya help here man

Carbs are easy to find on the net - if you battle, let me know I have a spare set that should fit.

Well hell I'd leave the plates as is otherwise you are talking complete plumbing setup for a 94 with thermo housing etc. bit of a pain in the *** for not much gain.

Could those openings be tapped or helicoiled and a threaded plug be used for a cleaner look?

Looks like a great project. I just finished my bike and have a ton of spare parts. Let me know what you need.
