Lee,
Congratulations on the New Ride, after some time in the saddle on the CBR,all Your other bikes will feel very different....... Might I suggest instead of the carb cleaner, put the CBR on a steady diet of Marvel Mystery Oil. 2 ounces to 5 gallons will clean the carbs, lube the upper cylinder, break down carbon deposits, and add long lasting results. Less cost than carb cleaner, and more benefits. Nice time of the year to ride in Your neighborhood.

Thought I would let you guys know that I picked it up this morning. At idle the engine seemed ok but when riding it the bike didn't have any power at all. It appears that the bike is only running on two cylinders. I dropped the bike off at the shop to have the tires put on(Pirelli's) and asked him to go through the carbs. Once the tires get put on and the bike running good I think I'll have a great bike that I can be proud of for years to come. Thanks again!

Welcome. Nice bike there. I'm a '93 owner myself. Hopefully, you'll get your bike back and it will be running strong. Since your bike sat so longyou should consider replacingthe brake and clutch hydraulic fluid and radiator coolant. When I got mine I did these things and found some ugly looking fluids that obviously had been neglected for a long time! Enjoy your new ride!

No power ? no **** ?

The shop should be able to trouble shoot that in a flash mate ... all will be ok ..

Yeah the owner of the shop came out and listened to it and said it was probably running on two cylinders. I had to take it up to 6k rpm just to get it to leave a stop light. I'm sure they'll get it right. I'm not overly worried about it. I asked him to change all the fluids and tires and synch/clean the carbs. He said it would run in the $1k range for all of that. So for $3400 I should have a pretty decent setup. I can live with that.

1000 bucks sounds a little expensive, even to me in Sweden! That should give you a valve adjustment too, and some... Make sure the mechanic knows how to bleed the Linked brake system properly.
Oh, yeah, Very Nice Bike, congratulations!
