Default Need to find an old mod: shifter

I had a copy of a post on replacing the swivels on the shifter (14 years, 73k miles will wear it out). It had McMaster-Carr part numbers as well as pictures as to how to do it. Does anybody remember this or have a link? Google and the forum search turned up nothing.

Please let us know if you find the old "pictures as to how to do it" post.
Mine is getting intermitantly sticky/stiff too change. Thinking of removing for a look at the
"04 COLLAR, CHANGE PIVOT 24725-MS2-000 001 $6.53 "

giving it a clean, grease and refit in the mean time.

Anyone done this?
For any benefit?
Was there any wear on this part?

Unfortunatley None makes any Shift Stars or detent arms for the CBR

A lot of the problem is just in the linkage. You can get a smooth linkage with no slop in it by using Stainless Bearing Rod Ends.

I made my own gear linkage ny remove the existing rods and rose joints and using these

Thanks Trips -
A lot of the problem is just in the linkage.
you just gave me motivation to move from the computer to check mine....

10 minutes work and a new smooth gear change!!!

Mine was seized (blocked by dried grease and grime). This is the "02 COLLAR, CHANGE PIVOT" to the "02 PEDAL, GEARSHIFT ".

For others this is a worthwhile 10min maintenance gem.
See Shadow's attachment above.
12mm spanner - remove bolt #12.
Remove, clean and oil part #4.
Replace.

WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG FOR ORIGINAL SMOOTH GEAR CHANGE??!!!

The workshop manual's solution (Chapter 9) is ..

Troubleshooting -Hard To Shift
• Incorrect clutch adjustment
• Loose stopper plate bolt
• Damaged stopper plate and pin
• Damaged gearshift spindle

I would place the above low level check/solution first (the manual / Honda mechanics didn't think of evrything!)
