That is terrific news. Whoever suggested the valve train adjustments was a genius. The symptoms were sure puzzling. NOW we'll know.

CyberTrip, have you adjusted shim and bucket valve lash before? If not we can help you through it.
That's the beautiful thing about these bikes (well, one of the beautiful things..), they aren't shim/bucket... just regular tappet adjusters. Just like a Civic!

I don't know how I missed the rest of this thread. TBT was right on with the valves and I'm glad you got it sorted Cybertrip.

I think the bolt may come out with an extractor. I didn't put much torque on it. My torque bar was set to 7ft-lbs and it twisted off before it even clicked.
I've done the same thing.... twice.
I swear, it's like they're made of cheap plastic.
They're easy to get out, though. The one I was able to use a little screw extractor on. The worse of the two, I just drilled into the center of the bolt and then pounded a slightly larger torx driver into the hole and screwed it right out. I thought it was pretty ingenious.
The bolts are the same size as the ones that hold the fairings on if you need a quick fix. Otherwise, they are M6 I believe.

It WAS supposed to show the bike starting properly with a cold motor. Instead, it showed that I had a dead battery.
