Default my new to me cbr1000f

hi guys, been gone a while from here, went to the dark side of kawasaki for a while with a zx9r and a zzr1100, a vtr1000f and a `98 gsxr-600(dull bike) but have reverted back to the good old cbr1000f. Picked mine up over a month ago for not much money (probably due to doing 70`000 miles) and a lovely camchain rattle(now sorted, chainged the oil and manually pumped up the tensioner).
Enjoying every minute of it.......if it wasn`t for the useless and dangerous avon azaro tyres.......which on that subject of tyres what rubber are you guys using? Im thinking about chucking these crappy avons and going for either michelin pilot road(fitted them to my zx9r) or pilot power...use the bike everyday and all weathers

I'm fighting with handling issues myself so I can't help you with tyre choice, I will say however, that 70 000 miles is NOTHING to these bikes if they are maintained properly. You've done the chain and tensioner - that's the only expensive job they normally need. You're all set for many years of fun as soon as you throw some decent tyres on. Enjoy it

Both the types of tyres you've mentioned are a popular choice on here, though the Pilot Roads will give you more miles and may be slightly better as an all weather tyre.

Welcome back to the forum, were the ZX9 and the ZZR1100 really dull or are you just refering to the Suzie?

going to put one or the other choice of tyres mentioned on my bike, both the same price and both good tyres....

Just put Perelli Angels on mine. Havent done too many miles but so far Im very happy with them. Handling predictable and no following any imperfections in the road.

Took off SportMax D220's (front cupped badly, rear about 40% used) and put on Michelin Pilot Road 3's. I've got close to 1k miles on them, still working to thin out the chicken strips.

Great tires, but have yet to ride them in a good downpour (one reason I chose them - for their apparently great wet-road traction).

I had road 3`s on my zzr11.....great tyre in the wet, makes you feel you could almost put your knee down. Not that i did, but i did get good lean angles

Hey Jim, welcome back. Full circle.

PR3's are absolutely perfect on these bikes. I'm on my 3rd set. Brilliant rubber from edge to edge.
Glad you've got her on the road without too much hassle. Look forward to hearing how she goes..... and goes
