My Hurricane is screwed again

I tried that stuff years ago, probably a different formula and under a different name, but it tended to pool at the bottom while the bike sat and when you got going again you were hopping like a roo.

Over the years I must have changed and fitted 50 tires on smaller rims on the other road bikes that I have owned , on mates bikes in my garage, plus a chit load of OFF road trail tires ..
Ok ...
As I said , since I have had the CBR , i have had all my tires fitted in the shop and the few flats that I have picked up I also have had repaired at the shop...
Well I will tell yu where om at at this moment ...
Thought I would try to do my own repair ... yer a good plan ..
I go to try to buy the repair kit and the dick head at the shop sells me this so called mobile repair kit ...60 bucks .. sounds ok for (3 repairs)
I get it home and **** me dead , on the instructions it says clearly that this is a temp repair kit ...only drive for a max of 400klms and do not exceed 60klms per hr (35mph)
I ring the three shops here to see if they have the proper string kits or any other bloody thing , and nup ...nothin !!!
So I get home rip the wheel out thinking I would just get the local auto tire shop to do what they said they could do which was an internal full repair for only 20 bucks if I pull the tire off ....sounds great ....So I go to try to break the bead ...**** me ...this thing has been glued on by the last shop to repair it !!!
Dunno what sealer they used to get it to pop out on the bead last time ...but the chit sticks like cement!!!
30 min later ...still only one side of the bead broken, I spat a bloody wobbly and packed the friggin wheel in the van and I am paying the bike shop 45 buck to do the internal repair tomorrow morning ..
**** DOING OFF THE RIM INTERNAL WIDE TIRE REPAIRS !!!!!!!! ....
With the time I have wasted , I could be back on the road now ...if I had just stuck to my normal plan of just getting it done in 15 minutes at the shop...
Om done !!
BTW- Anyone feels inclined to write up a full " how too " on removing these wide **** rear tire's by hand at home ... please feel free to do it ...

I don't take them off the rim -most bike shops here use some stuff that's like washing up liquid, a bit sticky - getting one off at home is MAJOR bloody PT ! I use one of those rubber string things, use plybond in the hole, cut off the excess with a razor blade and I'm good to go.10 mins tops and I've never had one fail................
Bugger for punishment is our Steve-o !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
can I send you some rubber stringy thingies mate ? You can buy your own bloody plybond........HEHEHEHEHE
FARK ME, 60 CLAMS FOR A REPAIR KIT.....................
buggers saw you coming I reckon.....
So $105 later .....................Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !
BTW IDODIRT did a how to on the old forum, if you can find it, or maybe a PM...............

Yer , don't worry , that stupid kit is going back in the morning ....I rang them and gave them a small piece of my mind Pete and told them that to sell that to a guy who told them it was for use on a 1000F to fix the bloody thing for good is nearly negligent !! They said they will refund my cash, a little reluctantly I might add, but its better than me going off my brain in there store ....
The local Honda shop around the corner from them will still fix the tire for 45 bucks thank god ....
I tried to get those rubber pull throughs but no one sells the bastards here ... I will order some online as back up now that I know you guys are using them ... thanks for the offer mate , but I want to ride her tommorrow ...
**** all this mucking around ...
Has any of you guys ever changed a rear at home by hand ?

Buy the kit with the Hole tool, and the Plug inserter tool mate. About $10 AU I use plybond to hold it in. I carry a can of that instant puncture fix under the right rear fairing, in front of the CDI unit - fits a treat..............
You could probably have got away with just a shot of puncturefix if the hole was that small................you'dve been riding in 5 mins
BUGGER !

I agree with the guys that say to plug. I have plugged two of mine with great results. One did still loose some air at about the same rate of one leaking at the bead. I did not have to re-balance. Why take it to the shop? Any auto supplier has the plugging tool and plugs. I use the rope type. I have had better luck with the rope type than the rubber plug type. I think it is because the hole may not be round and the round rubber plug will not conform to the hole like the rope.
