Default low speed wobble

I have a 95 and at low speed (under 50) if I let go of the bars it shakes like a speed wobble. Wondered if you could let me know the first and easiest place to look to rectify this.

Thanks, Al

I would check the wheel balance, warp wheel or rotors

mine shakes when the tyre starts to wear on the out sides best thing to do is dont let go of the bars unless you wont to scare your self.

Check tire pressure, the for cupping of the front wheel (happens on Dunlops a lot more often than other tires I've used)

Iagree with above posts. In my expperiencethe steeringwobble increases as the tire wears. It also wouldn't hurt to check the front wheel bearings asI have burned through two sets in about 20k miles. This is a heavy bike.
To check the bearings: 1.)lift front tire off ground, rotate tire and listen for excessive noise. 2.)Hold forks/steering in placeand try to shake tire sid to side. You are looking for excessive play between axle and wheel.

Rear tyre wear is a common reason to wobbling steering wheel, even more so than front tyre wear, in my very limited experience.

If you hear a click under braking from the front, I would add steering head bearings to your checklist as well.

+1
My front D220 on my 96 has some cupping to it and does this also. The head bearings are good and I check my tire pressure before each ride. I'll never own another set of D220's.
