Default Locking nut

Hi, Can anyone tell me the size of the locking nut on the cam follower adjustment screw please? The bike is an 87 cbr1k.

I think the socket that fits it is a 10mm. As for the threading, sorry no help here.

Thanks malbojah, it was the nut that I was interested in. I need to get a crow foot spanner so I can torque the lock nut while gripping the screw.

Hi Trips, discussed the Honda tools in an earlier thread here https://cbrforum.com/m_339541/tm.htm . Can the Honda tool be attached to a torque wrench? as according to the manual the locking nut need to be torqued to 17.0 ft lb.

No,it's basically a 10mm deep socket with a handle welded to the side. That way you can slip a hex tool down the socket to hold the adjuster while you tighten the nut. Then you go back through with a torque wrench.

I see, so using the Honda tool and hex key would I pinch tight the lock nut, then torque it? Just wanna make sure I get this right ( fear of causing major damage ) as I only just bought the bike. I'm in the process of cleaning it up and the valve adjustment will be my first servicing task. The pic below is how she looked when I got home from picking her up, she runs really well and the motor feels strong but as you can see needs a good scrub. Hope pic uploads ok never done it before

Nice lokking bike Noam. That tool you need is about £17 from honda, but well worth having as the space is very restricted to work in, and then torque the nuts after.
