inner bar weight
i am wanting to remove inner bar weght on my 89 cbr1000f to fit after market bar ends as one is broken. the broken one came out easy but other side wont budge. have tried twisting and pulling. is there an easier way to remove these or is it just brute force.??.thanks in advance for any info.
Get the front clip out first then put the screw back in and pull like a bastard to get it out
and you could lean the bike over and shoot some penetrating oil in there to help
slide the inner rubber orings as they get stuck in the mildly corroded dried out inner bar.
Had the same issue last week with a broken inner weight where the outer "neck" piece
had snapped off ........ penetrating oil, brute force & ignorance......... and a beer is all you
need

If you don't see it then chances are the neck part is snapped off the inner bar weight
usually as a result of the bike being dropped just put screw back in as far as it will go
and use a slide puller or some kind of puller to get it out as it appears it may have been
driven hard back into the bar
O f course if it continues simply to be a plain pain in the **** ------- just grab a handlebar
from Ebay or a Scrappers Yard
