Nope, spent 4 1/2 hours tonight putting everything back together...and no nuts and bolts were missing

I didn't pull back the insulation on the kill switch, but I did examine the heavy insulation that runs across the forks and the steering head and it was still whole.

I'm going with the far fetch option (long story ahead): back when I put the VFR bars on, I removed the boss that holds the kill switchgear in place (just drilled and yanked it out). When I got sick of the switchgear twisting with the throttle, I glued a piece of a screw in place where the old plastic boss was (and drilled a hole in the handlebar to accept it). Over time, the glue failed and the screw came out and was bouncing around inside the switch. I think the screw was occasionally making contact between the handlebar and one of the contacts on the starter button.

And if it's something else, then I'm parting the bike out over the winter.

If somebody was hoping to score some stuff off my bike.....

you're gonna have to wait until the exhaust rots off (and I now how to weld - kung fu style )

I'm going with the 'far fetched idea'. 200+ miles today without a hiccup. If the weather holds (and it doesn't look promising) hoping for a 4-500 mile day tomorrow

I stopped by there today to sit on the bike. Love the Russel Day Long saddle. Hate the previous owner for hacking the bags (put led stop lights cut into the back then fiberglassed over them). And MOM is asking way too much for a 30k mile bike. The one in W.Mass is $1600 cheaper with only 12k miles

That wasn't liquid tape, that was hand rolling the entire harness using a whole roll of electrical tape (bought 3 just in case) and re-using some of the hard rubber covers in certain areas

That was for the area where I had the voltage meter piercing the ground wire
