HID question
You'd take the chance of BAKING YOUR HEADLIGHT just to fit a projector lens when a standard HID kit has just as much light and is far easier to fit ?
If you don't reglue it correctly and you get just a few drops of moisture in there it'll either crack your headlight lens, shatter your projector lens or just cause rust in your headlight.
Also projector lenses are very hot and use a good deal of current, and the 1000F isn't known for having the best charging system in the world especially if you overload it.
It's your bike you do what you like, but I see a distinct difference between "faint of heart" and pointless effort......................

I wouldn't take that chance - just saying that there are those people who do... My HID kit is in the mail and I'm just doing the plug and play with the stock housing and forgetting the projector. David Stern might not like it, but apparently he hasn't rode one of these bikes at night!
Mmmmmmmmmmm 55W units - that'll get you noticed.
I see the 55W sets have smaller wiring looms - is that why you're fitting the 55W instead of the 35W ?
Or do you like having Patriots floodlights for headlights ??
HEHE
I'd maybe fit a single bulb HID kit to the Katoom while you're at it - being seen on the back roads is a good idea IMO
I bought my set from Australia -

I was going to go with DDM, but I read some not so great stories about them. Their kits come from china anyways, so I figured I'd just skip the middle man.

Fitted mine 18 months ago and now recommend them to anybody with stock lamps. Visibility and vision is amazing.
