Default HID question

Does anyone know what the small triangular metal bits are for in an HID fitting kit ?
I don't see what they are used for ................???

The lights work fine without them

^wow! But on the other hand, I hate being blinded by those who have installed them after market and not checking the angle of illumination.

Shadow, you say they work fine but is it a recommended upgrade and if so why?
ie. Better shoulder or down lane lighting.

The standard of light is so much better and brighter, especially on a wider arc.
(and I have checked my angles to avoid blinding other road users)

The quality of our road surfaces have deteriorated here over the past few years and the better your lights the better your chance of missing a pothole that a giraffe could hide in

Question xenon kit - tape?

Hi,

fitted my bi-xenon kit 18 months ago and the light levels are brilliant compared to the originals. I have noticed that cars move over more readily as well

Bit worried about your gaffer tape though - the ballasts can get hot so keep an eye on heat being trapped or melting the tape.

If what you ordered is the same as in the picture - I can't see how they would fit in a 1000F headlight..................................

Shadow, +1 to that! these are the wrong lamp fittings. You need a kit with just bulbs to fit existing headlamps.

Some projector retrofits require removal of the lens from the housing, usually done by baking it in the oven for a few minutes to loosen the glue then prying it apart. Not for the faint of heart!
