Interesting, the specs don't seem to be any different between the standard silverstars and the ultras. Except in life, the ultras are suposed to last longer than the standards, but have the same lumens and temperature. Wonder why the difference in rain?

I'd have to look, but I'm pretty sure the Ultra's are 4100k and hte regular ones are 4000k. This hardly seems like it would make the difference, and on top of that, the lower one should be better in rain imo, not worse...so I have no idea why they're different, but in the vehicles I tried them in anyway it was a huge difference. There is a chance that other headlights/reflectors etc. would have different results too...I only tried them in 2 vehicles.

Well here is a problem I just hit. The Silverstars I bought are the standard H4 55/60 watt, but when I pulled the stock Halos out they are 45/45 watt. Can the alt handle the extra power?

Ya no problem at all. If you have a US model bike though, you'll need to bend or snip tabs for the bulb to fit. This is not an issue...I've been running std. H4 bulbs for years no problem.
