Just connect the following wires together. Normally they would be turned off when your turn signal is on. In this case, your turn signal will simply flash brighter than the standard running light because both filaments will be on.
Nice job on the housing, looks good. You going to try to paint the markings again?
Thanks!! I’m hoping the rest of the build comes out as nicely...still a lot of polishing and refinishing to do!
So just to clarify, the aftermarket is a 9p adapter. The main wire harness on the bike would connect to the OEM controls via a 9p (black) and 3p mini connectors. In order to get the aftermarket to work on the bike I’d have to connect it to the 9p and 3p connectors....are you suggesting combining the wires from the 3p mini (on bike) and connecting that to one of the wires on the aftermarket? Connecting all 3 wires from the 3p to their corresponding wires on aftermarket? Or should I branch additional wires off of the aftermarket to fulfill the 3p mini and main harness’s needs?
Yes, just put a jumper across all 3 pins of the 3P connector so that they are all connected to each other. They will not be connected to the aftermarket control. That will enable your front turn signal lights to illuminate as running/parking lights. The other 3 wires, the Gray, Light blue, and Orange that are currently in the 9 pin connector will be matched up to the 9 pin wires going to the new control.
There are always plenty of left hand oem controls on Ebay, the right side are a little harder to find.Plug and play,no headaches
Thanks for your reply! So yes, there absolutely are a number of them on eBay. Please understand however that going that route had a few inherent issues...
A) (at the time) I wasn’t able to find any that were cheap
1. I am
B) they would have taken longer than I would have liked
1. I’m impulsive
C) at some point it became less about the availability of the controls and more about my frustration in my inability to solve this little riddle before me
1. I’m stubborn
2. I’m determined
🤣🤣🤣
Just to update, the weather in Jersey has been atrocious so I haven’t had a chance to try @IDoDirt ‘s suggestion. Hoping to this weekend 🤞
Some things I would point out on these while you've got them apart is to look at the solder joints. Many of them just look like a blob of solder sitting on the metal tab of the switch. This is common on many of the Honda switches. They are netorious for having the solder break off of the pad and just be hanging there.
