Default Header pipes

Does anyone know if the Header pipes / front downpipes are interchangeable between the earlier and later models ?
Obviously the fairings are different and clearence is a factor but without comparing the two side by side I ca'nt tell.
Have any of you guys fitted a late system to an FH/FJ ? or visa versa ?

many thanks Blue.

FK through to FX (89-99) are the same

FH & FJ (87-88) not certain but they may be since any of the Vance & Hines
kits run from 87-99

Yours is an FK if memory ( and search ) serves me right ...... you be all set

SandysBikeSpares a good source for nice shiney new ones

ah ......I'd be careful

If ya look at Sandys , you'll see they have stock for FK on

No FH/FJ .....seems to me that would indicate a difference

It's acedemic now Sprock - the whole system is gone on a buy it now.
(A complete stainless Viper system Headers and Silencer Can )
Never mind I have a suspiscion that it may have been a nightmare getting it to fit.
I also have been impressed by Sandy's systems and am busy raiding the piggy bank !
I pass their place to and from work so I will call in soon and have a chat with them.
Thanks for the input

They're good folks , just for me, by the time I convert to USD and add the freight
they're a kings ransom, s'why I'm looking at cheaper universal cans here and trying
to figure out a way to procure or fabricate some link pipes

Downpipes on both my bikes are solid , seems both were not ridden
much in salt or sandy winter roads in their past

Hey Bluelagoon, these might be worth a look and might not be too far from you.

People have had the patched up on here before with good results

thanks Hawkwind for the ebay link.
I had looked at these but dismissed them as being a bit pricey.
The blow on my headers is small and I'm not overly concerned about it untill the bike comes off the road for winter.
Wolfman has very kindly offered to weld them up for me.
