Grand Canyon Ride?
Hey anyone in or near Arizona? I was wanting to ride up to the Grand Canyon up through the painted desert. Anyone want to come alone or maybe meet there. I was wanting to go within the next few weeks. Which leads me to ask..To the guys who have luggage racks...Where did you buy? Or did you make it yourself?
I use a GIVI tubular rack, with KAPPA hard lugage. GIVI bags would be a good bet too. also heard a lot of goodthings aboutFIVE STARS racks. Where I bought is would be of no use to you, since I'm from Scandinavia...
The GIVI tubular rack is nice because it's not large, and if you paint it in the same colour as the bike, it's not very visible on the bike compared to a lot of other racks like the GIVI wing rack.
In my experience, don't buy soft lugage aka "throw ower bags", if loaded heavy the plastic on the rear of the bike may break due to pressuer from the bags...
hope this helps a little

i used some hard bags i got off ebay, for say 20 bucks nice flowing style, made a bracket from a road sign, painted to match and bolted them up, inside the bags (yamaha i think) they have lock screws so you can take the bags off if you need to. looking to make a top rack and case. the givi set is very very very nice, though way out of my price range since it would have been almost more than the bike... im in the states too, try bmw if you want the givi stuff, though jcwhitney has a set very much like the give at a far reduced price, but no real mount.
