Default Gear shift indicator

I recently picked up a 2011 hayabusa. This is my first bike that has a gear indicator, and although not absolutely necessary, it sure is nice.
I'm seeing the inexpensive universal ones on ebay. I like the display, but would prefer not having to fab up brackets for the 2 magnets down by the gear shift.
Any hurricane/1000f riders install one of the other more expensive ones that I assume go off engine rpm? Perhaps like the one from healtech?

I don't need one. When the engine is under load I down shift and up shift when the RPM's are up. When the tach and speedo are in the same clock position I know I'm in 6th.

I hear ya! I never needed one either, but it's just nice to have when I'm down shifting going into slower tight turns or stopping.

Had one fitted as standard to the old Gixer K5 and my Street R and purchased one for my RR9 Blade but I never really used it so I won't be purchasing another where it's not fitted as standard.
