Somebody had to do it didn't they, now I'm gonna have to rant about the price we're paying in the UK!

Today I paid £1.33 a LITRE! About 4.5 litres to a gallon = £5.99 a gallon @ $1.60 to a pound = $9.58 per gallon!!!!

At this price I couldn't give a **** about miles per gallon, it's got to be smiles per gallon for me!

We in the States really cannot complain when compared to the rest of the world. We are still less than half of what you pay in USD's.

You might want to go back to the conversion charts on that one. There's approximately 3.8 litres per US gallon (actually, 3.7854 litres). Currency conversion rate today (March 06, 2011) is 1 GBP = 1.63 USD.

Still, $8.24 per US gallon seems high when compared to what we pay for it over here. Whenever I rent a car in France and then come back home I laugh when I hear people in the US complaining about the high cost of fuel.

I stand corrected, forgot you don't use imperial gallons in the US, though I think they may use them in Australia.

I think the extentions are ther only to reduce intake noise. Remember, noise is one of EPA's std.'s. I also think they restrict intake flow. I have no hard evidence but it didn't cost me anything to take them off.

I like quiet my self, and I'd rather give up the .001 HP gain you might get by taking them off than listen to the intake howl. MHO

Twisting the throttle is too much fun for me to complain about mileage, so instead of puttin' around, pretending the CBR is an economy ride, I just peddle the bicycle to work 4 days a week, and ride the CBR the the way it's supposed to be riddin once a week. Bicycling makes me smile, but the CBR makes me giggle.

OK,but with the extensions in don`t they bring cold air from outside,vs without them your
bringing in warmer air from under the fairing, and the warmer air actually reduces HP,and
I was also thinking that with them on you are sort of raming air into the box,and read something out constant airbox pressure.Sorry for asking all this but its something that
I have thought about a few times and never really got good answers. I hope that we get
some opinion on this from other people on this forum, maybe I`ll start a new thread.
