Actually, I was replying to this:

I recently rode for a couple of hours on my 88 and I got about 35 mph. But I was going 85 to 90, and at one point 115. I am sure if I rode slower i would get better mileage. Guys, make sure your wiring is good, I thought mine was, and recently my fuel pump shorted out and the bike caught on fire while I was riding. Burned my favorite jeans!

I rode my bike on an interstate trip yesterday at 70 miles per hour. 46.4 miles per gallon. When i ride around town in traffic Im getting as low as 36 mpg but i dont ride very hard.
