Fuel Tank Lining 19871000 Hurricane
Howdy Gentlemen,
I believe I am going to line the fuel tank on my 87 model with the Caswell liner kit. I was wondering if someone could enlighten me as to the overflow tube or tank vents. I assume that the little hole in the depression part of the tank holding the gas cap, is an overflow which goes through the tank and exits on the bottom of the tank. I would think that is not a issue as far as lining the tank. There is another nipple on the bottom of the tank. Since gas does not pour out of it, I am wondering if this is part of some kind of air vent to to prevent vapor lock. I am guessing that there may be another opening somewhere inside the tank on the other end ? My issue is, I don't want to plug an air vent for the fuel tank full of epoxy and render it useless. The fuel overflow tube exit nipple is smaller than this nipple, both of which are on the bottom of the tank. Am I missing something obvious here ? Hopefully, someone on here that has done this can respond and let me know if they ran into any kind of problem when they did this. Thank You.

I"ve lined two other Honda's. My advice is to keep the solution away from any hole that is used for overflow or venting, or anything else really that is not the fuel line. The point of lining the tank is to keep crap out of the carb, any other area doesn't really matter because whatever it leads to (overflow or air vent) isn't going to get blocked by tiny pieces like a carb jet would. Plug up any pathway leading out of the tank other than fuel line before you do the job.
