forkseal leak help!
hi, i know this could be a simple solution, but i have replace the fork seals on my lefthand fork twice now and after about 500km riding it starts to weap again, now i checked the tube for pitting, there is a little but not enough to make it leak, im assuming i should have replaced the top and bottom bushes at the same time? as i did notice a bit of play when assembled between inner tube and outer tube, realy annoyed at myself for not changing bushes at the same time, however righthand side gave no problem after reseal, also used gen honda seals, let me know if u have any addvice

You are probably on to the problem. Most likely a stone knick or something. A way to check is use an old set of nylons and rub them on the tube. They'll snag on any small knicks. Those need to be polished out. I've used 1000 grit paper on a small wooden stick for this purpose. Good luck.
chers dad, the first time i replaced the seals i used a fine poishing stone to remove any edges, its amazing how much a seal will take up in any blemishes but it could be the problem chers
Had the same problem with a brand new CB650 27 years ago. It turned out to be a nick so small it was almost invisible. The finest emery cloth I could find did the trick. 1000 or 1500 grit wet-or-dry sandpaper would probably do as well.
i think u maybe right, i sanded them before, but didnt use wet and dry, just normal sandpaper, so when i do strip down again (ffs) i will make SURE there are NO burs
Make sure to install oil seal not up side down. I did once.. Here is little trick I usually use. Put new seals in freezer more than 5 hours before you install it, and warm em up with hair dryer after install. they seal better.
