Fork springs?
Just rebuilt my 96's and installed new progressive, very happy with them. Also used synthetic ATF. Front end is tighter and plusher. I had cut OEM springs so I can't compare to the race-tech.
TW my bike had 50K miles on it when I had a seal start weeping so I changed out most parts; springs, bushings (x4, 2in, 2outer) new seals and wipers. I went with all honda OEM other than spring and oil. Rode today, plush over small bumps and controlled at speed. Much less dive also.
tomttt, my 87 only has 31,000+ but seal are leaking a little. I have all new seals and bushings ready but need springs. Rides really plush after swapping 1990 wheels and radials but forks starting to bottom out on the freeway at speed with big hits over crappy surfaces. Hoping new springs and oil will stop it from bottoming out.
After my "rebuild" mine feels like it is higher in the stroke, but I feel bumps less and less dive. Overall Very happy wit results. My 96 called for ATF or fork oil, the syn Mobil one filled to recommended level seems just right.
At this point I have no reason to go any further with modifications.
I also put the progressive strings in my 96 1500 Wing SE, (only has 10K on it now) and OMG transformed the handling of the bike.
