Never seen this stuff before , looks good from the video , but I wonder how strong the new tab will be? Tried some fairing repair stuff from my local parts shop with mixed results . The soft moulding gel is good though , the kit I bought didn't have that.

Welder looks good - moulding gell will only give you an exact match where often you will need a mirror image of the tab

Hey Harry , that airless plastic welder looks great! Do you know if they're available in the UK?

Default welder

I really dont see where the welder would be of any use for tabs, but good for cracks maybe...but I have seen the other product used in conjunction with fiberglass cloth to reinforce an area that was cracked too...seemed to work well in theory...but the mold and stuff seems like it would work really well for the tabs if you follow the instructions properly for prep....its a different type of plastic, but its supposed to bond to other types well...im gonna get some tomorrow and see how it does...

As most of you know I crashed out recently & made a mess of myself & my bike. Been doing a little research on plastic repair & my local auto shop put me in touch with a wholesaler that sells a product made by 3M used for bumper repair. There is also a video of several 3M products on you tube. I'll try to copy the link.

Hope it's of some help. The product I was quoted I think was the last one on the video. The product was just under $100 & the applicator gun $105. These are Australian dollars.

Looks like great stuff just many spondulis. If it's as good as they say then most thrown away plastics would be able to be fixed relatively easily. I'll have to wait a couple more weeks for the cast to come off & then I'll have a look at what I can do with the old girl.
