Default ugh broken headlight tabs

Hey guys I got this headlight with some broken tabs on it. In picture below. Could I just get a screw with some washers or drill out the hole for a bigger thicker screw to hold it in place or use zip ties?

I figured I would try it with a nut and bolt and it is holding pretty stable.

Do you have the missing tabs ? Mine were broken off, but I still had them. I used a 1/4 20 cap bolt to screw in from the back side and it held the tabs on perfectly. If you don't have them, then what you've done is probably fine as well.

hey bammer...can you post a good picture of your fairing stay with the headlight attached....from what it looks like you mounted the headlight to the fairing stay...its supposed to mount to the front cowl...if you mounted it to the stay when you put your front cowl on the nose of it is going to have a serious lean toward the ground...then again i could be mistaken...i just don't remember bolting mine there don't remember pulling them out of the f4i the fairings were bought off

The tabs are broke so there isn't a way for it to suck up to the fairing stay and not really sure how to accomplish it without bolting it directly to the fairing stay

mine is bolted to the fairing stay at all, is what i'm getting at...i'm pretty sure that the only place that the headlight is bolted to is the five spots on the upper cowl...one in each corner and the one in the center of the headlight...i don't recall bolting it to the fairing stay. "I think" my bike is completely put together at the moment and really don't wanna take it apart to find out but i'm pretty sure that the headlight doesn't bolt there...all the other plastics i have seen the headlight just bolts to the upper cowl and the upper cowl to the stay and that's normally about it....sorry for the long post just don't want you to put your bike together just to realize that you will have to take it back apart because your nose is at a savage angle

I've been using zip ties on my headlight for the six months I've had the bike and it works fine - its plenty stable. The headlight piece also attaches to the L+R upper fairings.

How do you mount it to the fairing? Do you use bolts or screws? My fairings are from an aftermarket dealer with no attachments. Do I need those metal brackets to mount?
