Fan Switch

Well for chits and giggles we ripped out the rat's nest and hooked everything back up OEM specs. Go figure it runs fine. Cycles on/off just like it was made to never gets over 1/2 temp. Hell last night it was cool enough it wouldn't even come on. We thought it was broke till today... lol. WTF go in there and screw with factory when there is nothing wrong? The more I dive into her the more puzzled I get.....
Maybe the crap wiring caused it to stop working and the complete true harness it came back to life?

The reason people put in the bypass switch is that when it's hot outside, they will get very high on the temp gauge before the switch turns on. Mine just about pegs the gauge full-red before coming on. I don't know what that temp is, but it isn't hot enough to boil over or exhibit other signs of overheating, so I'm not sweating it.

One of the problems you may face (I did) is if the fan doesn't come on, there's a three way plastic hose coupler on the right hand side under the radiator filler area - mine blew when the heat caused the bike to boil....- cracked all the way around, and coolant everywhere, fortunately I had a spare, but if you were stuck in the middle of the Arizona desert, it would be a whole new problem ! A good reason to make sure the fan runs !

Ya I was thinking about that from what both of you are saying. I will most likely hook the baypass up and run it at my leisure. I had that same T coupler blow you did Shadow. Cracked all the way around and a soaked leg! hahaha. I'm just gonna keep a close eye on her and run it myself. It seems like it turns on at the 1/2 way point, I was manually turning it on at 3/4, or if I knew I was gonna be in traffic moving slow to get ahead of the game.
