Engine sound
Is it me or when the engine is warm , let's say you have been rding 2 hours or more, the sound is beautiful sounds like a turbine, this is the only bikeI have known to sound like that. Today we went for a 200kms ride, and at one pointI was just enjoying the sound ofit soundedlike it was purring. And with a beautiful loose twisty roadwith curves of large radius we were able to maintain 100 to 120 km/h (60 to 70 ), I guess it was one of those momentwhere everything is perfect, the weather , the road, the bike and yourself and that you got in that rythm where you feel that the bike just sings under you.
It was one of those rides thatI will remember.

ROADRUNNER
The light has come, I scan the sky
The weather clear, the tarmac dry
The road has called, and we must go
To places only we will know….
With rush of wind and angry growl
A low pitched predatory howl
The snick of gears, and brutal drive
We face the road, and come alive
A gentle bend, a lengthy sweep
The tyres are good, the grooves are deep,
She flies and sings the siren song
For here is where we both belong.
For on the edge is where we thrive
And here alone we can despise
The mindless moron changing lanes
Who never fell and felt the pain.
The taxis blunder, bringing death
And cars which struggle so for breath
To climb the hills we fly with ease
Where we are free and find release.
They cannot know who do not ride
The overwhelming sense of pride
Which comes to those who live so free
Who love to run, like she and me.

That sound is great mate :-)
I had a small 70klm run yesterday morning around the peninsular here in melbourne Aus that was very similar to yours....
and it even rained for the last 30klm which made the misses a tad uncomfortable , but I could not hear her whining ...just the bike :-)
Me I like the wet on occasion if the road is open and only slight bends all the way :-)
The CBR1000 has a very nice engine sound , in combination with the kool low growl from the exhaust...just freakin amazing.......
