That's good news mate! Be sensible when it first fires up. Run it in properly and be patient...it'll be well worth all the grief SOON!!

I know most are sick of talking about fuels (I have read quite a few threads on it),but, seeing how this wiseco big bore kit ups the compression to 12-1 should I run premium unleaded in it?

You might have to if it starts to knock. I may have mentioned this before but I put a high comp Wiseco 1170 kit in my old GPZ1100 years ago. The pre-ignition was so bad that I had to carry a bottle of octane booster around with me. I eventually lowered the compression very slightly by getting a spacer machined to raise the barrels slightly.

It was still probably higher than standard and went like a bloody rocket , but I spent some serious cash and hours on it too.

Start to run it in (pre-ignition won't be a problem straight away when you're being gentle) and just keep an ear out when you start to open it up. You won't miss it if it starts to 'ping' so don't bother using more expensive fuel if this doesn't happen.

What stage are you at?

BTW, don't worry about whether fuel or whatever has been talked about before...if you've got something on your mind, just ask it. That's why this forum is the best one around!

With you on that one Steve, it is truly a classic.

It is slightly misnamed tho' as only your nephew has a banjo. Surely it should be called "Duelling Multi Stringed Instruments"

No, you're right, it doesn't have quite the same ring to it does it.

Kind of like "Tubular Wide Variety of Instruments"
