Default drive chain, and sprockets

Looking for a recomendation for a new chain, and sprockets. I realize that this may be like an oil thread, but this is my first purchase of a chain and sprockets. I am not abusive, but i do want a good chain. I don't want to give away the farm though. Also, how many links is it? I believe that it is a 530 series.

Just stick with reputable brands. JT, AFAM etc for sprockets, I've had a few pairs of Sunstars as well, no complaints there. Chain, RK, DID... RK chains are long lasting in my opinion however a tad noisy so if you go that route don't be surprised of a little rattle. It's one of those things where common sense comes to play. It after all is a part of the bike's powertrain so you probly don't want to save 20 quid today and have it replaced again after one season ending up spending more, or worst case scenario whiplash the broken chain into your engine and split the case. Ebay stuff is ebay stuff so you'll know what you'll get from there...

There's a saying in Finland that I tend to live by. I guess the translation would be something like "the poor can't afford the cheap". Think the essence comes through...

I like that. I'm going to fold that up and put it in my pocket for later.

On drivetrain components, it always makes cents (see what I did there?) to go a little bit more spendy. I cheap out on some stuff, like turn signals for example, but I wouldn't want to on a chain. The cheaper chains stretch quickly.

Looking at the DID Xring chain, and JT sprockets, but my question is, will the 530 series fit without any mods being done? It has 525 series on it now. It appears that the inner sline on the forward gear is worn, and sloppy.

Sprock is on the money as usual. DID bring chains are all I ever use now. They last well and handle the winter crud very well. 20K miles is about what you should expect from a decent set. Cheaper ones far less. Let Mattoon's wise words ring in your head when you flash the cash.

530 is stock gauge for these bikes the forward sprocket is designed to
float and should be "sloppy" as you call it , should wiggle a couple of
milimeters either way

So buy 530 size sprockets and chains for these bikes
