Default Drive chain

Could anyone tell me the correct tension for the drive chain on my CBR1000F 1989. I am waiting to find a manual but I need to know the tension now. Alternatively, does anyone know where I can download a free version of the manual.

Nice site by the way.

I'm fairly certain that Shadow will chime in here, certainly on the manual. I believe the tension setting is 15mm - 25mm of free play.

Better late than never, Bill (it's a time zone thing)
Remember to rotate the wheel to check for tight spots.
I generally run 15mm play in the chain, and here's your manual - enjoy !

I see guys adjust there chains while their bikes are on the center stands (if you have one) and then drop them down , only to find out that the chain is now too tight ..!!!
I think the 10-25mm of free play are measured with the bike on the centerstand, at least that's what the manual says. Checking the chain tension with the wheel on the ground is an option, but as long as the free play is between that amount should be ok.
