For information, I once had a bike which I bought and the front brakes juddered like crazy. There were no spacers BUT the previous owner had painted the disc centres and the paint had not been applied evenly. The bolts pulled the discs offline, not much, a thou or two, but it's enough......
I took a wire brush to the disc centres - paint gone, problem gone, SOOOOOOOOOO
Even a layer or two of paint can cause your discs to run off centre, and cause a wobble.
Not surprised leaving out a .5mm spacer would have the same effect.
At least this may add some value to the debate, unlike the "twins" which are purely for decoration, surely ?
