I just called Corbin and got a quote on recovering my seat - $172.50 plus shipping, about a three week turn around. Apparently one can choose from different materials (leather, vinal, etc.) when having it recovered. Seems a little expensive, but then I've had local people recover a couple seats and somehow they just weren't as comfortable and didn't look as nice as stock. Sometimes it's worth it spend a little more.

Found out from my local Ulphostler why when you get a seat modified or raised, what they do is cut the existing foam then slot in another piece and glue it instead of using a complete new piece and what my fellow does is puts a 25 mm piece of anti crush foam on top that way it always springs back into place. No that I am saying all use it but he warned me if I go elsewhere to actually sit on the seat beofre they place a covering over the top becasue you would never know any difference.

DRam, I believe that configuration, w/ folding back, is fairly rare (comparativly). I have both types, for mine. and one my 82 1100 gsxez. I love 'em all. Corbin's price is "ok", if it's a as good as stock... more reasonable if it includes eather the folding or inserted backrest, and maybe disapearing welt... Don't accept the upholstrery job ever, if your not satisfied... orget a discount. Tell'm you dont want the "new guy" to do it. Own'd my own shop 8+ years. Clean and free, Ripp'n

The upolsterer I talked to said he'd insert extra material under the existing top layer of padding so there wouldn't be any line showing up through the covering... He seemed to know what he was talking about but that is the opposite to what waz57 described...

Price is going up quickly, do they sell this well normally? Looks a nice seat, but I would rather spend the cash on a few other things for summer first.
