Default cooling fan

The radiator fan motor wont kick on. Is there a fuse in the panel that I should check, or is there something else? Thermostat, raditor fan switch? Please advise.
Thanks

Yes, check all of that.
1. Check the fuse
2. Check coolant level
3. Ground the wire on the switch in the radiator with key on. If the fan runs, replace the switch. This is probably the problem.
4. Make sure the radiator gets hot enough to turn on the fan.

My fan does not kick in until the temp gauge gets up around 2/3 full scale. That's normal from what other members have reported.

What this guy sez and yes they do go to about 3/4 on the gauge before they kick-in.

As per above. Also make sure the solenoid isn't faulty as apparently that is reasonably common.

I have a hard-wired switch on mine but it works automatically as well - not a bad idea if you're sitting in traffic and notice it hasn't kicked in one day!

Cheers - boingk

I have 2 fans on mine - bought another1000f fan on fleabay and set two side by side -one I have running off the thermostat and the other on a manual switch- why? it gets pretty hot here, 45c for a few months at a time, so wanted to boost the cooling capability.

Some modern bikes have 2 small fans btw, one at over the inlet and one over the outlet so figured it might be more efficient to do something along those lines...
