Steve, I am a little bugger aren't I..... The weather has broke here in the desert (finally), so I will be out testing your 5,000 on up riding method. I rode long stroke V-Twins for the last 15 years and the multis feel a little nervous riding them above 3 grand. I guess I am just going to have to get out there and get used to the buzzy feeling of higher rev riding. Next week is going to be in the mid 70s, so I will be busy - riding.
Next year when you cut your hair (once a year hair cut), ship it to me so I can glue it to my helmet and look like a Wild Aussie in the Wind!!!

I rarely go over about 9000 though as a safety measure with my worn cam chain ....but there is one big kick in the *** to be had between 5000 and 9000 my friend..
Hmmm hmmmm ... finger licken good !!

Well there is one bike that's V engine i love. Yamaha Vmax! Yesterday was a test day here at local yamaha center and i took a ride with some bikes. The Vmax is insane if you talk about mid range power
And The R1 with it's crossplane crankshaft man this voice is cool, and as they said you really get two bikes in one great in low and insane in high rpms
But the good news to canes was, as i told in the "brake fluid topic", the new mt-03 had worse braking ability than my hurricane
And talking about long runs, well cane is pretty much the only bike i would do them

Yesterday my buddy came over with his '98 Honda VTR1000 (it's a twin). We wanted to compare bikes ever since I got mine last fall. Now that it's finally 100% and running good, we did. He took my bike for a spin and I took his. The two bikes are totally different animals. The Hurricane is smooth and refined the VTR has a Harley feel too to it. Shakes and vibrates but it does have a very good low end power. The Hurricne in comparrison is like a car with a turbo engine. The pull is gradual and then when the "boost" hits, it pulls like a rocket. We both agreed that the VTR felt a little faster (probalby because of the low end torque) but the Hurricane was a much more civilized/refined feel to it. It was interesting that we both had the same oppinion and my buddy even said that, regardles that it's an '87, the Hurricne is a fast bike.

VTR and VMAX
My Suzuki TL1000 is like that VTR 1000 Superhawk. It feels faster than my CBR-F up to at least 110 mph. Then, I think the CBR comes on hard and the TL is getting ready to die out.
I have always wanted to test a VMAX. A friend of mine has one and he has done the front fork change over and a lower V-Boost setting. I have not raced him, basically because we now live in different states (he is in California).
Has anyone out there ridden a Triumph Rocket III??? I am starting to get a little drool coming out of the corner of my mouth for one of those puppies....
I have to say one thing about the CBR-F. It has taken me 35 years of riding to finally find a bike that fits me like a glove and that is my CBR-F.... I will only get rid of it if the daisies push up from the earth over my grave!!!
Just looking to add another "Iron Horse" and would like to hear some more comparisons and opinions on some fast, hard riding bikes. Rocket III, VTX 1800, VMAX, M109R, Mr Busa, ZX12R, ZX14, Steve's neighbor's power fertilizer?
I really like the opinions so keep them coming.... Thanks brothers...

5,500 rpm and above
I tried riding it at 5,500 rpms and above. Check out my bad day in the Hurricane Saloon.... The bike rips at those rpms.... Anyone need a yellow Icon Mainframe Helmet and a yellow Icon TiMax jacket? The Nevada Highway Patrol are looking for it, I am sure!!! Who needs a Busa, a Hurricane can do just fine....
