[quote=CBRclassic;869383]Yours is a 93 isn't it ? which I think from memory is a K model and again without looking it up ,
they were 45 / 45 ... not that my memory can be trusted ...LOL
If she was mine I prolly would try the 60/55 from the early models ...but mate , that's just what I would do ... the little extra wattage should not cause any issues , but ok , I will stand corrected if om wrong ...
60/55 X 2 globes on the one Circuit..................Holy mother of Moses

As I said in my first post the manual says the K model on wards uses 45/45 x2. Thats 90 watts on low beam or high. If you put in a 55/60 you jump to 110 watts on low & 120 on high. Heaps more than any standard single bulb. I'm no auto spark but someone should be able to do the maths?? The bike also has a 390 watt alternator instead of 350 watt for the early ones. If the bulb isn't stupidly priced I'd go standard. If they cost the earth then give the 55/60 a go. Sounds like others have done it with no issues.

My 1990 uses the Honda 45/45 bulbs. The bulb has 3 alignment prongs. One at noon, one at four o'clock, and one at eight o'clock. On US bikes, you can only get replacements from Honda. Normal 55/60 H4 bulbs have the 3 alignment prongs at noon, 3:30, and 8:30, so they won't fit. I cut off the 3:30 and 8:30 prongs and inserted it using just the noon alignment prong. The spring clip holds it in tight alignment. My 55/60 bulbs have been in there at least four years with no problem.
