cbr1000 seat
i have an 06 f4i and i thought the seat was really comfy on it until this past weekend.i stopped at a used bike dealer and they had a 1993 cbr1000 for sale. it had the most comfortable bike seat i have ever sat on. there wasnt any tags or anything on it so i assume its the factory seat. the bike was gray and black with a red stripe in between. are all those older cbr seats that soft and comfy? i was thinking of buying an old seat and using the padding to redo my seat but i thought i would ask first
If it was soft, it was most likely the stock seat. Most of the aftermarket seats are a lot firmer so they are better for longer rides. My stock seat would start to hurt after 40 minutes. My Corbin kicks in at around 3 hours.
I have a 93 CBR 1000 with a stock seat, and I will have to agree with you.I'm 6'1",220lbs. and this seat is comfortable no matter how long I ride it! Different people need different seats,so what feels comfortable for one person is miserable for another person. This is the second stock seat I've had,as my first original seat was starting to look a little rough, but it still felt great.I don't know if it's the design of the seat ,or the foam they used, but I wouldn't change mine for anything.
i was amazed actually. ive sat on at least 30 different bikes and it was by far the most comfortable seat ive sat on. a big difference between it and the 07 600rr my buddy has. its like a flat piece of plastic with a layer of cardboard for the padding
