I have been cleaning carbs for what seems like ever and i still am not able to get one of the jet sets out of the carbs; the others came out no problem. I havn't torked them; I didn't want to ruin them. Does anyone know how to get the smooth jets out. Do they screw out like the others? or is there a trick?

There are two jets per carb in the float bowl that can be removed. It is the main jet, which reminds of a round nut on top of a brass tube, and another jet which looks like a 2 inch long brass tube. Both of them will unscrew counter clockwise. Is it the same jet on all carbs you cant remove, or just one jet in one carb? I remember that all jets in my carbs where quite hard to remove, so one has to use a well matching screwdriver/wrench.

 

Do you mean the jet needle? Or are there caps over the pilot screws?

 

Ther are 3 brass things that look like jets. 1 is 2 pieces- came out easily. 2nd had a slot for a flathead screwdriver. The 3rd is smooth. no slot no bolt head just a cylinder with a hole. I think this is the one R1000 mentioned.
Yes same jet on all 4.

I havn't gotten through this one. Maybe the hole is too small. Not sure.

The one without slot and without head is a factory pressed in unit, which should not be removed. While you are in the float chambers, also remove and clean the fuel mesh filters (nylon) above the float needle seats.

 

Hey thanks I just found the last post. I am still getting used to the features on this site. I will have no trouble finding posts I have contributed to. I am going to pull them again so I will look for the filters. Do you ahve to remove the carbs to adjust the inner carbs? #2 & 3? I cannot see how to do it while it is running
