Bikes Hitting Bears
Going on my first road trip. Only 4 hours through the mountains into BC. I'm a little concerned with all the bikes hitting wildlife lately. Maybe I just didn't notice it until I now have a bike but crap, it's been crazy. Three incidents in one week of bikes hitting bears. I'll be watching closely for sure. Thankfully I know the route through Radium from driving it hundreds of times. Here's a news link.

RE: Bikes Hitting Bears
Maybe old Bruin was looking for the b(e)ar(e) neccessities.....
and just wanted to give her a hug...........he he
Good news she's OK though.
We have plenty of car/antelope strikes here, mainly in remote areas at night....
They try to jump over the headlight beams.......[X(]
Never pleasant.

RE: Bikes Hitting Bears
Work colleague of mine collided with a deer in the wilds of Gloucestershire a couple of years ago. He was on a red Ducati, doing about 50mph, hit the deer's rear right rump as it crossed the road. Somehow he managed to come to a halt without falling off, but his front fairing was smashed and he was covered in blood. Fortunately (for him) it was the deer's blood not his. A following motorist said the deer pirouetted three times across the road after it was hit.
A lucky escape, though deer aren't as big as bears and thankfully we don't have bears in the UK. But even a rabbit or goose is enough to cause a biker serious damage.
